I’ve been a entrepreneur for over 20 years. I’ve been a gardener for over 50 years. I quit my engineering job when I got tired of office politics and started side hustles. Being just married a little over 2 years, I can tell you this didn’t make the wife happy but eventually in a few short months, the income was replaced with my new self employed gigs. Being from a computer and electrical background, I started buying off leased computers to repair and resell and formed a dialup ISP company.  Later I added website design, IT, SEO/SEM and coding to my business. 

I have always been a gardener for most of my life. I learned at age 5 how to prepare the soil, plant and harvest crops. I must admit for the first 30 years I did traditional garden and knew nothing about companion planting, soil conditioning and so forth. Later I got into organic gardening and honed my skills.

Then something happened.

Sitting in my home office, we lost power in a ice storm.  We ran a kerosene heater and the fireplace to keep warm that night. The next morning I sat in my office desk chair and began to think about being more prepared. Of course we had plenty of food in the house since I was brought up to stock up. I thought about growing bigger garden to can and store food in case there was an emergency. I got into solar and made my own solar system to produce electricity. Needless to say I started powering an oil filled heater and my office equipment with that solar power and reduced my dependency on the electrical company.  Wasn’t too hard to learn considering I had extensive knowledge on power supplies from my engineering days. 

Later when I moved when my wife passed. I found a passion for microgreens and lately investing. 

I do a lot of research and use everything listed on this site. I walk the walk and talk the talk so when I recommend a product in my shop, you can be assured I’ve took the time to find you the best products for quality and value. The main goal of my various video channels is to inform, educate and prepare others for a STUFF HITS THE FAN aka SHTF situation.
